Just a guess:

If the AC line voltage is significantly lower on weekends and evenings,
perhaps something inside your audio system drops out of regulation (a
voltage regulator stops doing a good job of producing a constant DC
voltage), and the audio circuits get a "dirty" DC supply voltage which
includes variations in the incoming AC voltage.
