Loved it! Thank you. We had a grey striped cat at one time, years ago when my
youngest daughter was about 11. We kept telling her dogs and a cat won't work,
but she kept insisting.We finally relented, telling her she had to be prepared
to accept whatever might happen.
She brought the kitten home. He came into the house saw two of our GSD (who we
felt would probably accept this new addition)and he immediately hunched up his
back then hissed and then ran into a wall. We named him Harvey (as in wall
banger) LOL
That cat adjusted to the dogs and even seemed to developed a few dog habits,
eventually they all accepted him.
We lived on acreage and often had stray cats show up. Once there was a big old
Tom cat hanging around. He tried his best to get our Harvey. One day we noticed
him chasing Harvey and it looked as if he was going to get him. Harvey ducked
under the kennel gate. That was so funny to watch. That mean old stray had a
look on his face like "Ha!!, now you are going to get it". Harvey on the other
side sitting between a couple of dogs had the neatest look on his face. It
appeared he was letting the cat know "nan ya...nan ya these are my dogs...and
you come one step closer and they will get YOU !"
Our Harvey lived to be almost 18, and he often would curl up and sleep with one
of the dogs.
Ah..memories.
