[ SHOWGSD-L ] scam or not

Has anyone at an all breed show entered a contest from one of the vendors
to win a vacation and have them call you with this real neat vacation to
orlando and a cruise etc. They want you to pay registration of about $500. I
always follow the rule to good to be true it isn't real and I don't like
giving my credit card number out. I asked what the catch was and I would
have to give them 90 minutes for a tour of the resort, I am assume time share
which I would do for this marvelous vacation but I am not happy about
putting money up front. Has anyone done this?
To make it dog related the booth was at a huge all breed show.
