It's really sad when we(the United States AKA our Goverment officials)can
step in to help out a foreign country not once but twice and get s*** on but
can't offer disaster relief to the victims of hurricanes. Kinda makes ya
wonder!!!!!!!!!!

My GSD's and myself are wondering something. When a country has a disaster
happen the United States usually sends people and supplies to them to help.
I haven't heard of any country sending aid or offering to help all the
people from the devastating Katrina. Have any of you heard of any ?? Curious

Hiya Ms. Sally...there have been some countries...Germany for sure...that
have offered aid.
As to the comment about our government...that's just such a cold and
uninformed shot. President Bush signed orders declaring the area a "state of
emergency" BEFORE Katrina hit. The Red Cross and FEMA were mobilizing BEFORE
Katrina hit. Volunteers of the Red Cross and mobile rescue units left San
Francisco BEFORE Katrina hit.
There are convoys of trucks, troops, and others on their way to the affected
areas. The problem is, over 80% of New Orleans is under water and many of
the roads to Mississippi and Alabama are destroyed. I saw one bridge over
water that went on for over a mile, that had just been decimated. US Navy
ships have been dispatched from Norfolk VA and a Hospital ship is on the way
to NO.
There's a huge movement going on...if not one other country offered
assistance we would still be able to deal with this terrible disaster. We
are Americans. There are nurses in NO hospitals that are hand pumping
respirators for patients until the generators can be restored.
I've seen the politicization of this situation and it just has no place on
the table. We need to do this as Americans...not political parties and
assigning blame.
