I had a discussion with a service dog trainer yesterday. She was looking for a dog to act as a stability dog but was absolutely certain that you had to neuter the dog immediately (5 months) because you just can't train an intact dog. I explained that the dog needs enough maturity to allow the bones and connective tissues to be able to function properly, especially when the dog will be doing physical work. She insisted that intact dogs just can't concentrate and were dog aggressive. When will some people start thinking instead of just spewing phrases they have been taught?!
