We have a big old fashioned outdoor bell or 'ringer' for our telephones as we
are outside a lot more
than we are inside. It is attached to our house on the corner where we walk
to the rear of the property
and it's only about 8 ft. off the ground. Two big ringers.
We have two birds build a nest right in the back of that bell where it attaches
to the house up under the
eave every single year for many years. It is a very loud bell and amazes me
they would build there. But
it does get 'muffled' as the nest gets bigger and filled with babies. We've
had as many as 5 baby birds
looking over the edge at us as we walk down the sidewalk to the back. Too
cute!
To make this dog related.........I assume they are not "sound shy"..........<G>

I have a breeding pair of cardinals right by my bedroom window where one
of the birdbaths is. My window has a wooden awning on with braced rods that
they come back to make a nest every year. There is a huge bush adjacent
to it that they fly in and out of. Of course I'm presuming it's the same
pair,but it could be their offspring,but they are here every year. And I
also have an all black squirrel ( no red tail--just all black) that's been
around for a number of years-I see it summer and winter.And we are now up to
8
deer that take sanctuary on my land,coming in through the front gate. Fun
