[ SHOWGSD-L ] memories of aliens

helen said she did not remember anything about her dogs and UFOs ... but i do
and thought this little story would give you all a good laugh and give helen
a happy memory of her wonderful dogs.
helen lived about 20 minutes from me and, one day in the mid 1980's, i called
her to see what she was doing that day. she said she'd had very little sleep
the night before because of her dogs having seen the UFOs. i'll explain.
helen had one of the most wonderful kennel set-ups i have ever seen. her
property was on 2 levels and, on the top level, there was a barn, converted
into
runs, and 3 large paddocks where the dogs could run, play and exercise. there
was a riding trail directly behind her fence. apparently, the night before, the
dogs in the upper area began to bark with a vengence. no matter what, helen
could not get them to quiet down. she also could not figure out why they were
barking at the sky. this went on for hours. as it began to get light, the
dogs began to settle down and helen finally got some much needed sleep. when
she went outside to do her kennels, she noticed a couple of the younger dogs
still staring at the sky. imagine her surprise when she spied a large bunch of
mylar balloons caught in a large tree on the riding path. the balloons were
happily bobbing in the breeze. she said she never laughed so hard, finally
realizing what those balloons (which had apparently escaped from a nearby
hospital) must have looked like at night in the moonlight. her dogs had warned
her of
an alien invasion.
