Hi everyone,
Thank you to all that sent suggestions as top what the best
option would be concerning my old girl Raven.
My first post is below, following that is what the vet found during the office
visit. .....................................
I have a unspayed female that has developed a lump in one of her rear breasts,
it has not really grown much since we discovered it (in Feb.), she was in
heat at the time, the lump is about the size of a large marble and very firm to
the touch.
We have an appointment to see the vet but my questions are do I spay her and
remove the tumor at the same time? Do it in two surgeries? Do I just spay her?
Just remove the tumor? Just watch it to see if it grows?

Raven will be 10 years old in June.

Well at the vet in addition to the breast tumor a small one the size of the tip
of your finger was found in her mouth, it is a firm lump solidly attached to
her upper gum just above her front incisors, and extremely close to her canine
when she closes her mouth, this lump is hard but has what appears to be a layer
of free moving skin over it. Raven is eating, drinking and acting like her
normal self, now we have two lumps to be removed, the cost is a lot more than I
was expecting up to $1100 not including a spay, but we will try our best to
come up with it, my question now is I am having blood and urine work done prior
to surgery but what are her long term chances, I have never in 40 years of
having dogs run into a mouth tumor, any one know anything about them? My line
usually lives 13 to 14 years and Raven is 7 generations of my breeding,
Any suggestions would be great. I know this is a long shot but is there
another way besides surgery of treating the mouth tumor? I am really concerned
surgery could really damage her upper jaw, depending on how deep the tumor is.

Thank you,
Take care,
Lonna
