[ SHOWGSD-L ] looking for male pup/young dog,Baltimore

I have a very dear friend whose male recently passed from cancer. She is now
ready for a new buddy and since I am not breeding at this time in my life, I
am trying to help her find a dog. Excellent temperament and health are the
top priorities. Beauty is secondary. This dog will have the ultimate home,
believe me. She wants another male any age from puppy to around 2yrs. old. She
lives in the Baltimore Maryland area and is looking in a range of about 2
hrs.
traveling time if possible. She has not ruled out rescue but has recently
had a bad experience with the local rescue agency. Although she passed the
house inspection they denied her because she would not transport her 11 yr.
old
cat to the shelter (2 hrs. away ) to do a cat check with the dogs for
adoption. Apparently their own cat was killed by a dog and now they can't
check the
rescue dogs for cat acceptance. Go figure - guess they really don't want to
find homes for their dogs. She has incredible references from her vet as well.
Any help will be appreciated. Breeders or rescue services - this is a do die
for home.
