If both parties are signers of the breeder's code, contact the breeder's
code chair. If not, contact the ethics chair. All of the procedures are in
the P & P manual behind the secure area of the PC's web site.
I have a real problem w/ "show PUPPY" BTW. I think I am as good as
anybody at evaluating puppies but a puppy is a promise, no more, no less. My
policy is that all puppies who leave at the 8-9 week point are sold at a
companion price. I can say "this is a promising puppy" but I can't guarantee
all of the pieces of the puzzle that make a dog a SHOW DOG will fall into
place. In fact, I hate being asked to sell a puppy for show because so many
things can go wrong and the very few times I have done it, I have had
assurances that the dog would be a forever member of the family, no matter if
they were a superstar or not. I'm more concerned about forever homes and
worried about what happens to all of the "not exactlys".
Anyway...that's just how I do things after finding myself many years ago in
the exact same place you are today.
If you want a show dog, best to buy one old enough where you can prelim,
ears are perfect, but is perfect, head is screwed on straight and you can
see them move.
OR, do what I did several months back. I bought an exciting show prospect
but there are no guarantees. Maybe she'll work out (I think so), but
maybe not too and since I took her at 9 weeks I didn't ask for nor did I
expect
promises.
