It is the ears. I was shipping a good sized bitch back to her owner and they
told me she was too big for the crate. It is a 3
hour round trip to the airport and I wasn't about to turn around and take her
back home. I pulled her ears down like a Golden
and told them if she was a Golden they would let her go. They shipped her. <G>

I know it's the ears, we have been told so by several airlines.
We can ship a 90 lb Foxhound dog in a 500 crate. We cannot ship a 90 lb GSD
male in a 500 because his ears touch
the top of the crate. Even when the dogs stood together and were the same
height at shoulder, they refused the
GSD. I said I was going to tape their ears under their chin next time!
