Hi Kerri - Not sure about all the color genetics in GSD, but they are probably a great deal like dals in many respects. I don't think it would matter if you bred your white spot/saddle dog to a linebred or outcross dog. If that dog carries the genes for white points, but doesn't show them, you could end up with 50 - 75% of your puppies having white points - of all variations.. There is nothing I love more than color genetics and coming from a breed with a lot of variables, I find it all fascinating... Several people have forwarded me GSD sites with various color genetics...
