My very first dog, was a cute puppy who we crated in the kitchen at night.
All night he would cry and bark, so we wound up going and spending the night
in the kitchen with him. Get up super early in the morning to let him out.
We were sleep deprived big time. Then we said hey lets put him in the crate
with us in the bedroom...Duh!!!!! That shut him up. Sleep came back. So
with all of our puppies from there on, spent time in the bedroom with us and
it never happened again.
But my present day shepherd barks at everything day and night only in the
house. If a bird flies by, rabbit hops across the lawn, neighbors come
home..Not much I can do but yell shut up. Usually works..sometimes
haha...Luckly all my neighbors have dogs...Diane

they have 5 settings, always be fair no matter how strong minded the dog
is,
start at 1. you need to keep them on snug. battery lasts for a year, you
can get a new battery at walmart for 4.00. some dogs learn quickly and
after
3 days you can put a dummy one on and they dont bark, but if they do get
daring, and they bark and see it doesn't work, will bark again, and
obviously
you go back to the level you were at. they do not shock for no reason.
IMPORTANT. some of the collars will shock even if there is no barking,
because of
a lot of moving or jumping, that is not fair to the dog. Tri tronics
doesn't
shock unless there is a bark. ALSO, they learn how to bark low where they
do
not get shocked either... smart little sh*ts!!
unfortunately there are a few reasons why dogs bark and perhaps seeking the
reason first. boredom is the main one. its almost not fair to use the
collars, but we live in the real world and might not be spending enough
time,
however, we have neighbors and dont want to lose the dogs. maybe spending
some
extra 10 min play time and the collar might settle them in.
