Dear Members of the show list,
Please be sure to carefully read Helen's email below.
The Centennial Committee continues with efforts to bring everyone
an outstanding history of our club and breed.
Our Centennial Historian, Tom Brown, (with assistance from Vivian)
is steadily gathering historical documents. One example
is his successful contacting of relatives of the first Secretary of
the Club Ann Tracy. Tom has acquired handwritten letters from
some of the founders & also I believe Marie Leary. Tom and Vivian
where at the former estate of Geraldine Dodge where they spent
time scanning important documents. Many thanks to Tom and Vivian
for all of their work.
There will be a historic physical display at Dream Park,
site of the 2013 Centennial National Specialty. Today Kay
forwarded the address and contact number of Helen Hess,
who with husband Art, founded the Hessian line of GSD's
Thank you Kay!!!! If you know or have items relative to
this effort please contact Tom Brown or Nancy Harper.
We are fortunate to have received the taped interview of Ernie Loeb
as well as other long time and influential GS breeders. You will be
able to view these tapes at the Centennial National.
The Friday ceremony honoring active duty MWD, SAR, Assistance & K-9's &
the DVD of these dogs in action will be very special - you will not want
to miss this occasion.
Following the Jan Board Meeting detailed information about the 2013
Events will be posted on the Centennial web site. The 2013 National,
Centennial Celebration, and World Trials is a once in a life time
opportunity - plan to be there!!!!

We have all that information. Remember Gail Sprock edited a magazine
called the "Best OF" while she was doing the Review,and had them for sale at
the
National in Philadelphia when I did Intersex. At the back of each months
magazine ,she had a multi-page with photos Interview, on about 12=13 people
.like Jimmy Moses,Fred Migliori, Joan Ford ,Ernie Loeb etc. She flew up to
Minn to handle a dog at our club's Specialty,so used that to get one on me
. She inspected my kennel,,checked all the dogs --then we sat at my
dining room table and she hammered me with question's for 2 hrs. I had
suggest
to Tish and the new Board that ,whenever the GSDCA has some extra money to
put together a Gail Sprock Memorial Book ,,with all the Interviews of all
the people she had written,about,and put it up for sale for profit back to
the club. Just to let you know ,These interviews are too much to be put in
Review. Mine alone ,was 20 pages with 18 pictures. . I don't know how long
Jimmy's or Fred's were,but should not be cut . . I gave Bill Burgraaff a
copy of mine,and asked Jimmy and Fred to bring theirs to the entire Board
,s
o these could be passed around to the new Board to see,and check the cost.
I started to work on this,way back when Gail Hardcastle was President
,passed it onto Tish,and now This Board. I was hoping to get it completed
for
the 2013 show --to be sold as a Centennial item. But with cuts in the
Budget, the Board will probably not be able to afford to do this until
after
2013.
