I lived with a full blooded Can. Wolf and was NOTHING like my GSs. Got him
when he was only 16 days old bottle feeding him. I even couldn't feed my
wolf kibble because of constant diarrhea. He was supposed to get road
kill/raw chickens, etc. Didn't handle the vaccinations like a dog. And I had
the worse time getting rid of his round worms. The med's just didn't work on
him and he got so sick from that. Finally he just out grew that issue. Dogs
have been domesticated for a very long time now, and understandably more
responsive to domesticating techniques than wolves. Dogs respond to the
voice; wolves to hand signals. The dog has lost some of its hunting ability
because of domestication. But dogs can often read facial expressions of
their human masters. My wolf was so confused he would go into his dog house
and poop in his food dish. Probably to get back at me because he wasn't
happy??? He did some weird and awesome things I've never saw a dog do.

The wolf is a natural hunter. Wolf teeth are designed for hunting. Wolves
have stronger molars than dogs, enabling them to crush large bones. Wolves
could prey on little children. Dogs, on the most part, are very friendly and
playful towards children. Feral dogs have been known to kill small children
and attack adults. I did bond with my wolf but he sure wasn't anything in or
out like my shepherd.
