The Berger Blanc Suisse / White Swiss Shepherd is flourishing in Europe as a
separate and distinct breed. The members of the American White Shepherd
Association (AWSA) who are seeking breed recognition only wish to have the same
opportunities for their dogs here in the United States . AWSA seeks no ill
will toward the GSDCA, nor to the clubs devoted to the white coated German
Shepherd Dog such as the WGSDCA and WGSDCI.
AWSA has NOT and is NOT asking for a change to the GSDCA Standard.
AWSA has NOT and will NOT ask for any changes to the GSDCA award criteria.
AWSA is NOT even asking for approval or endorsement of the GSDCA of the White
Shepherd breed.
AWSA is asking that the GSDCA not object to the recognition of the White
Shepherd breed by the AKC. .
For the most part the rest of the world has moved on and AWSA just wants the
opportunity to move forward and establish the White Shepherd breed within the
AKC.
