Well what do I have to lose? Using a test not designed
for the type of DM that GSDs get? Using a test that has no
longterm generational studies for predictability or accuracy or percentage?
To select or de select from an already limited gene pool based on a test
that doesn't pertain to the type of disease found in the breed? To
use a test that has in its very limited research already produced false
results?
Even Jerold Bell, DVM, Tufts says do NOT use this in breeding selections.
So what do I have to lose? Too much as far as I am concerned,
to base any program on the "latest and greatest"
that may be a pig in a poke.
