Hey Bonnie,
You are correct and I miss-spoke and allowed my opinion to sway the
facts. My apologies for this error. You also weren't the only one to
pick up on this and I will remember to have more caffeine before posting
to the list next time! What a great team!!!
But now that I am sucked into the conversation why would anyone want to
go through the trouble of x-raying and registering their dog with the
OFA to receive a "lesser" certification? Without directly linking the
evaluation finding to a specific animal there is no assurance that the
rating is for that animal.
Of course if someone has intention to do harm this isn't going to stop
them...but it does protect the integrity of the database to the best of
OFA and the submitting veterinarian's ability.
So the question on the table would be why not microchip or tattoo your
dog? How can it bring anything but benefit to all involved?
