I don't know about that. I keep hearing from time to time, how much work and
how thankless it is to serve on the Board. It isn't always that way all the
time, or with everyone. You all know my history --30 yrs on the Board along
with Gene and Blanche,4 yrs as President,6 yrs as Vice President,along with 30
yrs as membership chairman. And I must tell you I enjoyed every minute . Sur
e we had some rough times,--had our National taken away from us ,went through
the "eye on the wall" period that everyone was spying on each other. Members
quit the club in disgust. We had the Harold Sands,Ralph Roberts feud that
nearly broke up the club, We had Trouble makers on some Boards With
everything that happened ,I still enjoyed all of it because of what the GSDCA
stood
for,and our love for the German Shepherd Dog, No matter what the problem was,
we overcame it, and survived Everything was a challenge to us. Remember we
had no computers to ease the work load of the Board. Dorothy Linn took the
minutes of the meetings in her own special shorthand<G> translated them on the
flight home from the Board meeting,had them done and to the Board in a week
When Bob Reuter & also Don Hadsall were President,we had a full two day Sat&
Sun meeting besides the extra day on Fridays for Committee meetings We will
survive this Hunte thing. We have been embarrassed as a club,and there have
been some screw-ups and intimidations,but like our dogs,we have unbelievable
strength ,and will overcome. This is just another unpleasant period to get
through brought on by an unpleasant man with a lot of money,who is convinced he
