Chances are very good that none of you are looking in the right place.
In the Review, it's usually part of the "boilerplate" on the Contents
page...In fact, it's in Bold print in every issue I just checked.
This reminds me of what just happened to a friend of mine with an
entry for a show. She has a 17 month old import and she sent in an
entry with the dog entered in Novice. The Show Superintendent refused
the entry and told her the dog had to go into Open, since it was an
import. (That was once true, but has not been the case in over 20
years).........so my friend called the AKC, and was told the same thing.
Do you know why? Because both the Super and the people at AKC
were looking up "rules applying to imports." (There are none under that
heading)
What they SHOULD have been looking at were the definitions
(requirements) for each class...but they were hung up on the word "import."
Final outcome? Her dog is going to the show in the Novice Class.
Just goes to show you...information is often there right under
your nose...you have to know where to look. All too often, I have that
problem, and I go running for help...............but I suggest to y'all
that you look again.
