Again it is easy for you to say living conveniently right there...........ask the Californians and North West people or NorthEast and SouthEast people how they feel ...........or aren't they in your all so important circles ? You talk about entries dwindling well could you afford to lose all the Californians, Northwesterners, South Easterners and North Easterners ?? You will make a consistent hardship for these people and their dogs, 4 more extra days of driving and that much more time of missed work and motels and eating out..... It is not fair for these people to have to endure this while you all are so comfy having it in your back yards....... Amy Safdir Almanya Shepherds ------------------------------------------------------------------- I have no agenda. I came up with the idea of a 12 hour driving circle years ago. In fact, John Ayotte's map was drawn up during that time. Ed thought it was a good idea then and he had no thoughts of running for any office at the time as far as I know. If he's running now, I did not know that, nor does it matter to this debate. The issue is how to choose a location for the national. My ideas are in no way unfair to anyone. In fact, they are the only way to be as fair as possible to everyone. The only people who have disagreed, have been people who live on or near a coast, so I guess that argument works both ways. I admit to not understanding the argument against my ideas. It seems to me that if a twelve hour driving circle were used, people on the coast would end up with more opportunities to drive to a national. Like you, I think that hub airports should be a consideration. I merely think that flying should not be considered above driving. The airlines have been moving to smaller aircraft and eliminating hubs for several years now, and that does not bode well for anyone's hope of flying dogs in the future. Right now is the time to prepare for future difficulties in flying dogs. As a matter of fact, Peg and I have enjoyed our time away from the dog game enough that we may never attend another national. Please note though, that I have not lost any interest in the breed. I merely think this is an interesting problem that has a best possible and proven solution. You are mistaken if you believe I have any self serving motives in this debate beyond a hope that the GSDCA and its national specialty will again become something that people want to be a part of. You see ... I am one of those people. I enjoy debate, but please don't imply that I am not sincere in my motives. That just isn't true.
