Reading the posts, there are still some who are "confused" about the
"standard," and illustration thereof. The Standard is a written description
of what attributes, faults and disqualifications our breed should have. They
are to be "x" number inches tall, "X" number height to length, number of
teeth, etc, etc. etc.,that is the Standard. The illustration of the standard
needs to reflect today's style of dog. Once again, today's "style" is the same
"X" number of inches tall, "X" number height to length etc. Today's style does
fit into yesterday's standard. Today's top bitches are more feminine appearing
with more topline, and the dogs also exhibit more topline...all part of the
old standard. ("The withers should be higher...") Like myself, Lee Brown, and
several others have said...The illustration needs to change, badly.
