I guess some of you didn't read Evan's descriptions.........

if someone yells in your face, shakes a fist in your face, or even stands
right close and shakes their finger in your face, all that is still assault.
heaven forbid the person got close enough to yell and it resulted in spittle
in your face--all that is assault. when someone
pokes/pushes/shoves/pinches/slaps you...that is battery.

IF all that has been reported to us by our fellow GSD fanciers happened, and
I believe it did, and they took no action and the AKC is going to take none,
we must all be on the watch for harrassment by AKC reps now. We KNOW the
GSD fancy is not thought well of by many...so we must just be on our
guard. It will be useless for any of us to argue that there is no rule
against double handling....AKC is still, sadly, the only game in town, and
they make up rules as they go along, interpreting them as they please. Even
WITH the written rules, AKC applies them differently depending on to whom
they are being applied.
You know if someone important had been among those exhibitors harrassed in
Fitchburg, it would have been a different story...but none of the people who
were assaulted by this rep are of any consequence to the AKC...we are all
just peons, you know. The only way to make a change is for someone to be
arrested...and guess what...you can't be arrested for doubling unless you
bump into someone (which I guess might be construed as battery, ha ha)
.........jingling keys, even ringing a bell in your pocket...not against the
law.

And...as much as I think it would be worth our while to never enter any
allbreed shows or obedience trials in that area again, it probably wouldn't
matter to too many people...just us. AKC very obviously doesn't care if
there are German Shepherds around...look at the childish threat in Gaeta's
letter about not allowing Shepherd specialties around other breeds, for
example. Let it happen..let there be a negative impact on GSD entries...AKC
won't care.
