I kind of got distracted yesterday at about 2:30 PM , about 60 minutes before
kick-off, at that time at the 15th Annual King Of Brentwood BBQ contest
sponsored by the Police Athletic League, the " Salt and Pepper Pork Pullers"
were awarded " Grand Champion" beating out 17 teams! I was shocked! I don't do
many things well ( see dog showing) but I can cook! How do you think I got
three people to marry me! And yes Evan there is a standard at the contests, the
qualifiers are appearance , taste, and tenderness but just like at dog shows
subjectivity and interpretation comes into play.... When I cook for family and
friends it is MUCH better ... So if you want some Great BBQ come the the Mid
Pacific Futurity Shows April 2 weekend! I will have our huge trophy at the
shows! I have also figured out how to do a whole pig at the Reno National but
the powers that be may prevent this.... My team mate is no longer upset that we
came in second last year... Subbing today and one of my students was at the
Super Bowl performing during the pre game show! Yesterday was a good day for
both of us! FB
