Not exactly a problem. Just feed less; problem solved! ;)
Seriously, my 66 lb English setter and 75 lb GSD each eat
about 1.25 cups (more or less) a day split into 2 meals. I
only buy the 15 pound bags because I like the food to stay
as fresh as possible. Since we have no problems with food
allergies here, I also rotate between all available
varieties of Orijen and Acana which is, really, just a
less concentrated form of Orijen.
Lyn: You might look into Acana Provincial Pacifica. It's
grain-free, all fish-based (Protein: 33.00% / Fat 15.00%)
and my dogs will even eat it as training treats! I usually
feed their morning meal plain and dry. Afternoon meal is
moistened kibble with added meat, either fresh/raw or
pure canned meat (Wysong Au Jus). That's just a base
though. They also get good table food/leftovers added to
their meals on a regular basis with the amount of kibble
appropriately adjusted/reduced. They love any kind of
fresh fruit, eggs (raw yolks or cooked) and salad greens
with balsamic vinegar. They also get a bite of pretty much
whatever else we happen to be snacking on at night in
front of the tube, including Cadbury Mini-eggs! ;) I
guess we're a bunch of fairly eclectic eaters here. ;)
