You know, I've been thinking. About Testicles. Especially
Questionable ones after reading the Posts from the last few days.
Now, I'm not too sure how sound an Idea this, but it seems to me that
we should completely change the Testicle Exam part of the Judge's
exam, in fact, eliminate it.
The AKC should make a rule that all Dogs entered in a Show must have
an ID number, sort of like an OFA Number, showing that the dog has
been found to have 2 real Testicles, as specified in the Breed
Standard for every dog, and that this has been certified by a vet, or
other person qualified to do the exam and assign a Number.
The number would be a required box in the AKC entry form, something
like the Registration #, and if omitted, the entry would not be
accepted. Also, we could have the AKC assign a new
abbreviation/title to follow the Dog's name, much as the OFA # is
often placed behind the dog's name. I propose this title should be :
2GTNN, for 2 Genuine Testicles No Nuticles.
Thonk of the time that would be saved, in the aggregate, if the Judge
didn't have to go through this repetitive, usually unnecessary part
of his exam; time which could be better spent on a Loose-Lead
Go-Around, for example. Knocking a few seconds off the 2 minutes a
judge has to judge a Dog in the A/B ring could lead to some real time
savings in the Long Run.
I don't usually spend my time indulging in pursuits such as this, but
it sure helps occupy the time on a boring 175-mile-one-way trip to
pick up your Dog from his Handler!
