Here's how we ended up dealing with the issue of
on-line and print.
On our membership dues, we have a checkbox - if you want to continue to receive
the hardcopy of the Spotters.
Last year's membership? Everyone still wants the hardcopies - even the people
like my mom, who only read it on-line, still like the hardcopy for reference.
HOWEVER, you have to make the magazine useful to people so they WANT to
continue to receive it hardcopy.
I still think going to every other month would be a good idea and truly, I do
believe the on-line version has helped the Spotter - everyone pays for the ads,
but gets freebie advertising on the web. We promote the on-line Spotter to the
public and the pet people LOVE it...
All sorts of benefits and I think it pays for itself :-)
