Maybe we should have the Open class divided for Standard Open, Huge Open,
Long Coat Open, etc
We so often praise our dogs working abilities but a 29 inch dog has a much
harder time doing the work - be it tending, guiding, folding up in a
helicopter, jumping through a car window, going through an agility tunnel,
etc. There is a reason for the "desired" size. Of course we could also add
the hunter-jumper class to the National for those 29-30+ dogs that are
ridden by their handlers.

Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Shoulder Height
A quick question on shoulder heights..the standard reads: " The desired
*height* for males at the top of the highest point of the *shoulder* blade
is 24 to 26 inches" most males I see seem taller than that. Is it
feasible to show a male taller than 26" and how much taller would you go?
