Sara. I just happened to be on pedigrees reviewed and saw you there!
Wow! I see you joined in 2007! Have you been interested in various
lines since then? I'm amazed at your persistence, you must have read
all the GSD material/books by now!

I grew up on my horses' backs and learned movement and function from
them. That's how I could pick out the good'uns from my litters. (And
picked out Moxie, not knowing why I wanted her... Sure not for
show!) Not when they were wet, but after they started moving. Most
stayed together, a couple fell apart.

So I can see that you must watch your horses and then watch the dogs
and figure out why dogs move the way they do and why. Standard Breds
do not move like cutting Quarter horses, like Thoroughbreds, as you
probably know.

But, if one never tests the dog to see if it can still function than
how would one know that the form is correct?
Who is the thoroughbred breeder?
