For her???? =20 Let the Board do it's job, let Susan Casey have a MINUTE of peace to=20 settle in on a still difficult task, and to get OUR (collectively) ads = out,=20 before everyone starts bitching about conflict of interest.....give the = woman some=20 credit for Pete's Sake. =20 =20 Kathy Tank I, for one, do welcome Susan to her new job. Good luck to her and may her = efforts benefit the GSDCA and it's members. Also, I don't have a problem with changing vague and restrictive language = governing the Review editor. I do think the language, which apparently is = a problem, should have been changed before we went forward to fill the = Review job. My employer's hiring practices (and we are a publicly funded = state university system) would not allow this kind of change without = re-opening and re-adverising the search. For me, it's in the same = category as advertising a salary range of mid-forties and actually hiring = someone at $65,000. If the position had initially been advertised at the = higher level you probably would have attracted a different pool of = candidates. The P&P restrictions may very well have discouraged folks = that otherwise would have applied for the Review job. It just would have = been a lot cleaner if this change had been addressed before searching and = hiring an editor, not after the fact. =20 I'm sure this will be a learning experience for our club and our board and = that a situation like this can be avoided in the future.
