Pick the best healthy, large pumpkin to save those seeds, as genetics do
play a roll just like with our dogs. Remove the seeds and wash and rinse
thoroughly using soapy 'warm' water, not hot. Do not soak the seeds, but
drain in a strainer, spread out on a screen to dry. Stir the seeds often for
the first couple days. Let them air dry in a cool, dry area for three weeks
or longer. Store in a bag, or envelope, nothing airtight. Mark seeds
with date and type of pumpkin and enjoy your pumpkin breeding program. ;-)
By the way the pumpkin flesh is great for the dogs.
