[ SHOWGSD-L ] Preventic (amitraz) Tick Collar?

Has anyone ever used the Preventic tick collar on their dog(s)? I hate putting
any chemicals on my dogs, but I'm desperate. We don't have fleas, but the
ticks more than make up for this. We live in the woods and the deer jump the
fences every night to sleep in the yard bringing their lovely little buddies
with them. I'm tired of the poor dogs contracting Ehrlichiosis.
Frontline Plus helps some, but the ticks still attach and then die. According
to the claims, the Preventic collar actually prevents the attachment of ticks
in addition to killing ticks that are already attached.
Thanks in advance for any opinions on the effectiveness of this collar.
