[ SHOWGSD-L ] Parade of Greats--Rosette charge

I agree! Someone posted the charge is for both the rosette and a full
page in the catalog. What if you just want the opportunity to be announced
and enjoy the moment and the rosette but don't want the page in the catalog??
I have TWO dogs that earned their PAM's this year and I'm planning to come
to Nationals this year for my first time ever. I was sorta looking forward
to trotting them around for all to see.....but I don't want to have to pay
$150 for the moment on top of all my National's expenses, and the
work/money it took to earn those awards in the first place!!

there is a simple solution to the "wasted expense" issue - charge a
refundable fee for the Parade of Greats, a fee that is double the ACTUAL
cost of
the rosette. if the dog shows up, the fee is refunded. if the dog doesn't
show up, the fee is not refunded and the cost of the "no show's" rosette
is doubly covered . if they all show up, well, THAT would be something to
see!
before anyone asks, yes, i did make this suggestion to some board members.
i guess they didn't like it.
