The term, or name, PANDA GSD is merely great "marketing skills" in my
opinion.
Someone got a lot of white on a black and tan GSD litter, and instead of
correcting the problem
bred INTO the problem and developed new marketing skills and supposedly yet
another
"rare" GSD color was born!! <G> In other words......"PANDA" is a term
for marketing only.
( This color used to be called Piebald in horses .. )
You CAN still get a lot of white on some current show lines to this day if one
is not careful.
Usually starts showing up with white feet........then white up the
leg.....stripes on the face....etc.

I received a e-mail from a girl who wanted advice about getting a PANDA GS
pup and she asked me about the colors of the GS and if AKC recognizes a
Panda
GS. The breeder told her the parents are AKC reg. and the pups would be too??
I would like to answer her, but I wasn't sure, I thought Panda's are NOT
recognized by AKC? What color would they register them as if they are?
Does anyone know?

This girl sent me pics of the pup she is getting, if anyone wants to see.
To me it is marked like a Bernese Moutain dog and not sure what the the body
and head look like :-(
