Pat Lukos of Weeping Willow German Shepherd Sanctuary is at home after she was 
hospitalized for a heart catheterization that  went bad following a stroke on 
Dec. 1.  In Pat's words, "The stent that was put in had some kind of a 
malfunction, and something nicked the aorta resulting in me bleeding out. I was 
flown by Flight for Life to University Hospital in Cleveland and after 9 hours 
of surgery and having my heart restarted twice on the table, I was put into a 
medically induced coma for a couple days, and I was so drugged that I started 
hallucinating. On Christmas Eve I was transferred to Hillside Rehabilitation 
Hospital, and I just came home this Wednesday  Now for in-home nursing and 
rehab, but at least I am with the dogs.

"The sanctuary is running quite well with our new Board of Directors and also 
our backup plan in case of  problems....dogs were so happy as I am for me to be 
home.  It will take several months for me to get my strength back.  I have some 
loss of my peripheral vision in one eye and some hearing loss in my right 
ear....hopefully that can be corrected in time."
