Michelle, besides a possible problem with the air conditioner failing, the engine could die, or another problem happen that could put your dogs in danger. I believe a police dog died last year when the air conditioner overheated and the vehicle filled with smoke. This year, a police dog in my area died because either the engine stopped or the air conditioner failed and the car became so hot the dog was in cardiac arrest by the time the officer returned to the vehicle. It might be preferable to leaving your dog with just a cracked window, but the best choice is not to leave a dog in a car in the summer heat at all. Same thing for a child - one or more die that way every year. Janice --------------------------- In a message dated 8/11/2006 11:23:17 P.M.
