[ SHOWGSD-L ] New era at Crufts

The below article was forwarded to me by a good friend who also belongs to
this list.  At first it made me mad reading it, the writer does sound angry
as well. BUT, read the entire article AND watch the video. I am not a Peke
person, but it does show the Pekes running and jumping, and the modern Peke
would have a hard time doing that. I never did hear why the Bulldog did not
clear the vet inspection, but the statement this person is makiing regarding
C-sections is true, most are by C-section now.  As much as I disagree with a
vet making the decisions on breed standards, and God only knows what will be
said about the GSD, and hate to see the KC cave to public outcry, I can kind of
see why to the John Q Public this all seems outragious. As breeders and
exhibitors, we ARE under the microscope, wether we like it or not, it's a
sign of the times. If nothing else, this article is certianly food for
thought, and will generate discussion on
both sides of the Pond.
