Thanks Russell. I accept your humor. This
discussion provide a lot of it each year.

If we look at a map, a good thing when talking
about these things, we find the center of the US
to be somewhere near Oberlin, Kansas. Now I
suspect that a few who live in that area are aware
that there in not an international airport and
major hub in Oberlin, or anywhere in Kansas. This
is not Kansas' fault it is just the way our
country developed.

But guess what? Denver is about the same distance
for Oberlin to the West as St. Louis is to the
East. And both are major hubs. So there you have
it. Create a regular rotation -

Denver, St. Louis, so forth, or you can do
whatever as far as I am concerned. I love it no
matter where it is, except in Northern Iraq.

Exactly right Joyce. BEAUTIFUL Grounds at
Purina....but the actual show is indoors with
terrible sound,

and the flooring takes away from some dogs comfort
zone in gaiting.
BUT......Colorado is as Central to the West as
Kansas or St. Louis is to the East.....?

AND to Bill Basu's point, Colorado also is at
LEAST a subsidiary main hub for dog friendly
airlines....as

is Utah I believe. AND...All of them are
drivable....with each side being handicapped to
other sides. <G>

But ALL "doable".

Also...If Theresa is going to use Maine as an
example for distance instead of straight across
the U.S...like

is always done to San Francisco....then be fair
and take it up to Bellingham, Washington from St.
Louis,

then driving is then 2262.23. miles.
Again....St. Louis is not Central... nor closer to
the middle...

I think Purina i a beautiful place. But ... not
for German Shepherds inside. Our breed moves best
on natural footing dirt, grass not cement or
rubber cement or whatever the stuff is on the
flooring at Purina. Just my opinion but I enjoy
seeing our breed gaiting effortlessly on grass and
a large enough ring to see them work. I bet if
feels that way for the dogs too if they could
talk. I could tell some dogs were not comfortable
on that flooring, it was strange for them. If I
have this correctly we will be rotating west, back
to central, east back to central and west again.
I hope that when in the central part its at
another venue, unless there can be a way for a
bigger ring and sod. The other thing I missed was
the stalls somewhere the dog can go in etc. and be
secure.

Topeka was good in my opinion, not sure how it was
for herding etc and of course that has to figure
in. No place is going to be perfect but whats
best for the dogs. Joyce Willis

Is there anyone that comes from Maine or Boston?
One side of the country to

the other St Louis is Maine to Saint Louis and
there are 1,424.18 by road.

It would take 21 hours 17 mins to go from Maine to
Saint Louis.

Boston to St Louis 18 h (1,191.9 mi) via I-90 W
and I-70 W

San Francisco to St Louis 31 h (2,056.1 mi) via
I-80 E Do not see where you

came up with your figures.

Not pushing St Louis but still see it closer to
the Middle of the USA.
