EarthLink Revolves Around You.
In 2010 Kentucky will be hosting the World Equestrian Games at the KY Horse
Park in Lexington. This event has always been held in Europe and this will
be the very first time the US will be the host. Apparently a new 6000 seat
faintly will be built, along with a 250-300 room hotel. If the facility is
climate controlled, it may be worth a consideration to revisit the park for
a future national. the location is great( I figure if exhibitors can get
their horses from all over the world to the site, it would not be a stretch
to get dogs there)..the ambience is classy and well suited for a dog show,
plus perhaps more events could take place on the show grounds and not many
miles away. I would venture to say that there will be articles in the
future pertaining to the facility plus I would wager that the Chamber of
Commerce has more detail about the facility. Again the completion date is
to be the Fall of 2010. I think we need to look that far in advance to
procure good sites and get out names on the books so if we ever hope of
entertaining the idea of rotating among 2-3 sites that we don't lose a site
because we failed to book it far enough in advance. I hope the topic of
National sites along with the length of the National are right at the top
of the list of things that need to be addressed at our Jan Board meeting.
