[ SHOWGSD-L ] More on Ribbons

Morning Listers,

I have to say it:  I LOVE Ribbons.  Ribbons are awards that my dogs  
have won.  When I was teaching, I gave some of the small ones out as  
bookmarks throughout the year.  The kids loved to read the names of  
the dogs (on the back) who had won those particular ribbons.  I'd  
hear, "Oh, Punky won this one."  "This was The Kid's."  "Who's  
Forest?  She won this."  It gave the kids a lot of pleasure to have  
these and it gave me pleasure too, to re-live those wins as the  
ribbons were passed on.

Now I am retired.  Nobody keeps those ribbons but me.  VBS.  However,  
I found a woman on a horse list of mine who makes wall-hangings from  
horse or dog show ribbons.  You guessed it.  I am getting one.   
Punky's BIS, Groups and Westminster Award of Merit, The Kid's majors,  
Forest's, Brando's, Tabu's, Elvis's, Eagle's, Ketchy's, Jeddie's,  
Bubbles's, Fudge's, Billy-Bob's --all will be made into a beautiful  
patchwork quilt of memories.

So I'll say it again:  I love ribbons (and what they represent.)
