I was at Jack's first judging assignment.  Our bitch, Red Squirrel was  
Winner's Bitch.  All we hoped for was Best of Winner's to get the extra  point. 
 The Specials class was something else, great animals, and the  Winner's 
Dog needed Best of Breed or Best Opposite Sex to finish. JR was on the  dog 
and told me he just wanted to get one or the other, and he did everything he  
could to push Jack.
 
Jack worked every animal at length. He moved everyone up, back and  over.  
He worked and worked them without giving a clue as to who was going  up. We 
still just wanted that extra point for Red Squirrel and Summer was  working 
her heart out.  The Winner's Dog could finish and was a good one,  and JR 
was trying everything he could to win, as he shoul.
 
Jack finally pulled out his winners. Best of Breed with Summer, Red  
Squirrel.  I know Jack had never met Summer and never seen Red  Squirrel.  But, 
that was his choice.
 
I think we have the makings of another great judge. Jack was honest, fair  
and did what he wanted. One handler tried to talk back to him in the ring, 
and  it had no impact on Jack at all.  He was tested at his first show, and  
impressed me with his procedure and composure.
 
If you get the chance, show to Jack. But, expect an honest opinion with no  
bull.
 
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
