I think that is right. We, AKC people can breed to SV dogs. But, from what
I was told. Those who are in the SV registry, can't breed to the American
males.
As usual, I am probably wrong. Ed will correct me.

Helen has it right. But, as I understand it, the SV dogs can't breed to
the American lines.
Maybe I am mistaken.
Also, I don't trust German shepherds that are hip certified at one year
old. But, that's another story.
As Ken and Carolyn pointed out, when we breed within our registry, we
know the lines for twenty years. When we breed outside the AKC dogs, we like
what we see, but have little or no knowledge of what is in the background,
and often, not even what the rest of the litter looked like.
