I have to side with Laura and Randy rationale, though I am not leaving the
GSDCA, nor the show rings, yet.
One can only bang one's head against the wall for so long.
These "elite lifer's" should have the GSDCA drop out of the AKC and run this
breed like the SV. The membership seems to really prefer having one "breed
warden" (the National judge) to tell them who is "great" and who should be bred
to. Who needs AKC champions when one can have VA, aka: Select, dogs?

Yes Evan you are probably the only one that sees humor in this. What I
see is frustration!
It's not about taking my ball and going home. It's about not being able
to play. It's about being disenfranchised and made to feel unimportant by
the good ole boys who run the game.
I remember some years ago there was dissatisfaction with the food and
entertainment and the way the Victory Party was being run. Most of my life
has
been in the food,beverage and entertainment business so I decided to offer
my services to assist in the problem by contacting the person in charge of
the event. I am still waiting for someone to call me back. That was
years ago, and I have never tried to assist again. Please don't piss on my
leg
and tell me its raining.
I have tried for years to run for a position to judge the National. I
gave up! There are some who don't want new blood in their sand box. I have
been told by many that there was a concerted effort by some to prevent me
from ever doing a National. I could name names, but I will not. Unless you
go to the right cocktail parties and kiss the right asses you will never be
able to contribute. I choose not to do that! So I am with Laura, Lee and
many others, I AM DONE.
It's a shame that you make light of Laura's frustration in you words. If
she is one of your favorite people, I would hate to be one of your least
favorites.
You are a nice guy, quit trying to defend the good ole boys. There will
come a day when these people will be the only ones left. Then they can
judge their own dogs and destroy this breed and this sport by their selfish
elitist attitude.
Give you an example- I was very discouraged and disappointed with the
poor quality of the streaming video at the beginning of this years National so
I wrote to Lana Lee (who wanted input) and expressed my displeasure. I
knew it could be done better, and believed I had wasted my money. Her reply,
in essence, was next year you should do it yourself. Nice answer was it
not? As it turned out it was fixed. Maybe the right person complained and
got her attention. Who the hell do these people think they are? I rest my
case.
