Worked out very well for me and the arrangements are whatever you and the
bitch owner want them to be. The first bitch I leased actually went back to
the owner after being bred and the owner whelped the litter and raised the
puppies through six weeks. The bitch was strictly used to being a kennel
dog and would not have been comfortable in my setup. I paid a lease fee
plus expenses, we split the litter.
It IS a huge responsibility and I would just say get everything agreed to
ahead of time.
Another option is co-owning and while some will say they have not had a
good experience, that too has worked out beautifully....
