Absolutely, a limping animal should be sent out of the ring. It is excused,
not DQ's

Why hurt an animal for a ribbon? Points?

Funny story. I had a bitch that hated to be examined - hated to be touched by
anyone other
than her family. Made the stand for exam in UD difficult, and she would close
her eyes and
cringe before the examination and was often faulted for it. But she stood.
Well, one day she
twisted her ankle on a jump and was excused for limping. The next time we went
into the ring to
show, she started to limp HOPING to be excused. THe judge questioned me and I
explained
that she was fine when we walked into the ring, give me a few minutes of
heeling to see if it
stops, and it did. When we finished, I explained that the dog QUICKLY learned
if she limped,
she was excused from showing. WHen it didn't work, and she began to work, it
stopped.

Shepherds are TOO SMART
