The supervisors meeting will be on PBS, 10 P.M. tonight L.A. County Dog Ordinance Deadline Extended August 29, 2006 The Board of Supervisors Tuesday decided that pet owners in unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County have another six months to get their dogs neutered and implanted with a microchip. In June, the board approved an ordinance requiring most dogs in unincorporated areas to be spayed or neutered and implanted with an identifying microchip. A 90-day grace period for dog owners was set to expire Saturday. Supervisor Don Knabe sponsored a motion extending that period for another six months. When the grace period ends, dog owners who fail to comply with the ordinance could face $250 fines. ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2006.
