Tennis balls are far worse. The felt is abrasive to teeth. My Maggie has worn
her teeth to nubs with tennis balls. She now only gets supervised playtime
with them and doesn't get to keep them to play. She loves to play ball by
herself and now she gets a soft rubber ball for daytime and we play together
with the tennis ball in the afternoon.
