Have you looked up the closest Shepherd Club to see if there is anyone there to
start with? There might be members who could at least put you in contact with
someone close. Check out the GSDCA website to find the area clubs.
www.gsdca.org I'd simply call the contact person and ask when they might have
a club meeting, training class... etc. Or, go to any shows you can, and find
out the judging times for shepherds. You never know who might show up, that
she could work into conversation with. (You probably thought of that on your
own though....)
We should start compiling a list of contacts. Those Juniors eager to show, and
the handlers and breeders willing to mentor. At least then someone would have
an idea of who is in the general area, and can possibly network off of that.
We could start a group. A place for past and present juniors to enter their
information, plan shows, ask questions.....

My daughter has asked me to post to the list her desire to learn to handle
GSDs. While she was visiting her father for the summer, she caught the "show"
bug and can't get rid of it. She's shown a mini doxie in both Juniors and
breed, and now wants to show a GSD (she can handle the specialty ring). The

like to meet other Juniors as well as handlers in Fl and maybe co-own to show
