I had a conversation with Kent Boyles regarding the matter of Kent showing
under Ellen Migliore in Canada, and Kent asked me to post a response to the
list. Kent said that he was under the impression that it was legal and an
accepted practice as several other handlers had done so over the past few
years. In thinking the matter over, in retrospect he said he was sorry
that he had done so, that he has dedicated his life since he was seventeen
to
this breed and this sport and would never deliberately do something
detrimental to the German Shepherd breed or to the sport of showing dogs.
He also
feels very badly for having put Ellen into such a compromising situation.
Kent said that he has always enjoyed going to Canada and supporting the
Canadian shows, that he has made many good friends there, that he respects
the Canadians and their system and regrets that he has done anything to
damage the appearance of the sport.
All of us, at some point in our lives, have probably done something we wish
we could do over. I am sure Kent will use better judgement in the
