There is little more dirty than running a printing press. In those days
we used to clean the ink off the press at the end of the day. We used
gasoline. We had a container of gas, and we soaked a rag in gas and wiped off
the rollers. Then we threw the wet rags in a bucket to use the next day.
Can you imagine what the fire department would say about that today?
I ran the printing shop when I was 14.
